Inspire Mentoring is a unique opportunity for you to be mentored by a professional who has been trained by the Inspire team. A mentor will help you make choices in your life. A mentor will always listen to you; they won’t judge you and they’ll offer support and guidance if you want it. They can introduce you to their networks and contacts, open doors for you and give you insights into the world of work.
Our mentors have been in your shoes
Our volunteer mentors have lived through the same circumstances and situations as our mentees. Many are themselves the first in their family to attend college and struggled to develop their career with no connections. They have experienced mentoring and understand how beneficial it is when starting your career journey and making the transition from education to employment.

Our Mentors
We work with a variety of mentors who volunteer the time. Meet some of our mentors below.
Richard Doran
One of our original pilot programme mentors, Richard supported his mentee whilst living in China. He has over 15 years’ experience working in mainstream and digital media in Ireland and recently China where he is a familiar face and voice to millions of Chinese. Richard’s experience covers all aspects of hosting, scriptwriting and pre-and post-production. A fluent Mandarin speaker, Richard enjoyed his experience so much he has signed up to mentor again.
Eilis Davenport
Eilis signed up during our pilot programme in 2020. She is an experienced pastry chef with over 10 years’ experience working in a variety of kitchens, most recently in the fabulous Le Patissier. She is also a qualified Irish dancing teacher and a mother to two wonderful boys. Her latest endeavour is setting up a new social innovation project focusing on food and culinary education in Irish schools. Eilis supported her mentee, building up her confidence and self-belief and challenging her to achieve her full potential.
Paul Thompson
Global Transitions Manager with Google Ireland, Paul has over 15 years’ experience in the tech industry. A certified Executive and Personal Coach and a transformational lead, he signed up to give something back, having experience mentoring himself and understanding that developing a career isn’t always straightforward. Paul was happy to work with his mentee, supporting her career journey, helping her to understand the workplace, to make relevant connections and making introductions on her behalf.
